]]> Today we took our annual trip with a group of kids from the Farmington Academy. The number of kids that signed up for the trip doubled from prior years with a few familiar faves. We went out for porgies, it took a little while for everyone to get the hang of things, but once they did, porgies were coming over the rail left and right. 

There was one kid that came with us in prior years that was fishing like a pro.  He baited his hook, caught the fish, took it off himself and then to top it off- he filleted the majority of the fish caught.  Captain Mike asked him to come back when he’s 16 to join our crew. He wasn’t kidding. 

It was another great trip with a great bunch of students (and their teacher- Tom). We look forward to seeing you next year.

]]> What a great start to our 4th season. We started out with a charter on Saturday that wanted porgies and stripers and that’s what they got! With lots of nice jumbo spring scup around we loaded up, and then stopped to do some bass drifts on the way back, and they cooperated nicely! Though most of the credit goes to one thrifty angler catching one after another. Good job!

On Sunday, we went out for our first open boat trip of the season, which was a reunion of regular anglers as well as some new faces. We got onto a pile of jumbo, and I mean JUMBO scup until everyone had they’re fill. Then finished off the trip with a nice batch of fluke some close to 10 lbs!
